Rich Food adds a production line for poultry processing this year

Rich Food, which specializes in meat production, plans to add a new poultry production line during the current year.

Mahmoud Emara,sales manager said that Rich Food aims to increase its production by up to 25% after operating the new production line.

He added that the company opened a new production line last month at the beginning of this year due to the increased demand for processed meat, explaining that the company exports only 5% of production to the countries of Kuwait, the UAE, and Qatar. The company plans to increase its exports during the coming period.

Emara indicated that the company is conducting negotiations with several Kenyan companies to discuss exporting to it, as there are great opportunities for local companies working in the field of meat processing to export to the African market due to the increased demand for Egyptian products.

He added that 90% of the production inputs that Rich Food depends on are imported, most notably meat, packing materials and spices.

Emara said that the company is launching two brands, Al-Lahimi and Rich, which include 85 types of different products.

He said that the availability of raw materials and prices are the most important challenges facing local companies operating in the sector, explaining that there is a scarcity in the provision of raw materials in conjunction with the significant increase in prices.

He pointed out that Rich Food began communicating with the Food Export Council to develop solutions to those challenges facing the industry, calling for the need to form an association that includes companies and handles dealing with government agencies and meeting the demands of those companies.
