Editor chief write...A dream comes true in the pearl of the Gulf

The food industries sector in Egypt has a great potential to continue growth and compete with other global products, while keeping pace with the rapid developments in the industry around the world.

The food industries, in both the private and public sectors, have witnessed significant interest in the recent years. The industry showed resilience in the face of crises, including the Coronavirus pandemic.

The food sector’s positive growth during 2020was a result of long-time efforts by private companies and the government during the past years.

International exhibitions play a great role in developing any country's exports, as was the case with Egyptian industries, especially small- and medium-sizedenterprises (SMEs).

The Food Export Council also spares no effort to promote Egyptian exports, developlocal companies, and open new markets.

Food industry exports have achieved positive growth rates over the last five years, including 2020, the year of COVID-19.

We extend our appreciation to all board members of the Food Export Council,under the leadership of Hani Berzi.We also praise the executive management of the Council over the past years, led by Manar Nasr, the former executive director, and May Khairy, the current executive director.

A team of ambitious, hard-working young people is also behind the Council’s success in its mission.This team is led by Tamim Al-Dhaou, Marketing Director of the Council, and HebaSuhail, Director of Exhibitions.

Gulf Food is one of the most important international exhibitions in the food industry. Dubai, the Pearl of the Gulf, which hosts this edition, always witnessed many small companies in the food sector realizing their dreams.

This time the dream was of "Commodity Market", which was born here on the land of the pearl of the Gulf, and inside the halls of the Gulf Food exhibition.Today, this dream came true and Commodity Market has become for the first time an English-language media partner for the Egyptian companies participating in the exhibition.
