The exports of the Beyti Food Industries Company have grown by about 30% over the past year, compared to its exports in 2021. The company's exports have reached more than 40 countries around the world.
Mohamed Anwar, director of export at Bayti Food Industries, said that the company enjoys a prominent position in the world of food and beverages, thanks to its possession of 26 production lines developed in the company's factory in the city of Nubariya.
Anwar estimated the volume of the company's investments in its new factory at about EGP 5bn, including about EGP 200m in the past year alone. The company has earmarked EGP 220m for investment this year.
He explained that the company has succeeded, with its juices and dairy products, in consolidating its position in the global market, as the company's products reach more than 40 countries all over the world, including 24 African countries and 11 European markets.
He pointed out that the company aims to enter various new markets during the current year, led by the United States, North African countries, Europe, Asia and Russia, to meet the growing demand for high-quality dairy products and juices.
He also said that the company is keen to participate in international exhibitions to exchange experiences with the largest producers and investors in the field of food industries in the world, as the company participates in the Gulfood Dubai exhibition, which is the largest annual event for the food industry in the Middle East and the Gulf region.
He added that the exhibition is an opportunity to hold a number of meetings to discuss strategies and expand its customer base by presenting the company's products and explaining the modern production techniques applied in its production facility in Egypt.
He explained that the company also participated in the international exhibition Anuga for the food and beverage industry - which was held in Cologne, Germany, as it is considered one of the most important and largest trade fairs in the food and beverage industry in the world, and it also represents a real opportunity to present the level and quality of Egyptian products and their ability to compete globally. It also participates annually in the Food Africa exhibition, which includes 730 local and international exhibitors and 500 global buyers. The exhibition included discussion sessions in all areas of food, agricultural crops, green economy, packaging, engineering and chemical industries.
The company's products undergo more than 15 million physical, chemical, molecular and organic analyzes annually, and it invests more than EGP 9m to conduct tests for samples taken from supplier sites. The company has also spent more than EGP 100m on the latest cleaning and disinfection programs to ensure maximum sterilization of personnel and devices.
The company's efforts to improve the nutritional value of its high-quality products culminated in obtaining many reliable international certificates such as the food safety accreditation system provided by the Food Safety Certification Corporation FSSC 22000, and its ranking in the AIB International evaluation of food safety inspection standards were raised from (775/1000) in 2015 to (955/1000) in 2022, in addition to the company’s inclusion in the white lists of the National Food Safety Authority in Egypt and the Saudi Food and Drug Authority.
Beyti also obtained a halal certificate in 2019, and the company also obtained many quality certificates such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
Beyti products account for 38% of the dairy and juice products market in Egypt, and the company relies on more than 250 qualified partners who provide high-quality materials, including dairy products, juice and packaging materials.
Anwar said that the company plans this year to increase production and introduce different sizes and new flavors for both juices and dairy products to suit the requirements of the vast export markets all over the world.
"We conduct more than 1,000 food safety self-checks on an annual basis covering various manufacturing steps and comprehensive factory premises to ensure a strong food safety system," he stressed.
Beyti has adopted many environmentally friendly practices in all its operations, including natural gas and solar energy projects to reduce carbon emissions. The company's strategy to promote sustainability is divided into several areas, the first in the field of new and renewable energy, as the company owns the largest solar power plant with a capacity of 6.7 megawatts with a total investment of $5m, rising to $20m in the next five years.
The company relies on the largest water treatment plant in the dairy and juice sector in Egypt, which was constructed with a capacity of 3,200 cubic meters per day, to reduce water consumption and avoid any negative impact on the environment. The company also contributed to the delivery of natural gas to the area adjacent to its factory in Nubariya.
