The Yemeni Coffee Company (Abdel Maboud Coffee) succeeded in gaining new customers in many countries, through its first participation in the food industries exhibition Food Africa in its seventh session, which was held from 5 to 7 December.

Sameh Ghanem, Marketing Director of Abdel Maboud Coffee, said that participation in the Food Africa exhibition is the first for the company, in order to shift from exporting through individual efforts to organized official exporting and searching for new agents in all countries of the world.

He added that the company exports to Saudi Arabia and the UAE, but with individual efforts, and seeks to focus on the Gulf markets in general, and through an export system that guarantees continuity, especially with the widespread use of Turkish coffee in the Gulf alongside Arabic coffee, as well as exporting to the markets of the United States of America.

He confirmed that the company held a lot of meetings on the sidelines of the exhibition, and has already communicated with new clients in many new markets, expecting that the coming period will witness the signing of export contracts in a large number of markets.

He also said that Abdel Maboud Coffee focused, during the past years, on spreading and meeting and providing the needs of the local market, in terms of coffee of various types and flavors and blends specific to Abdel Maboud Coffee, which is the secret of the workmanship that distinguishes the company and makes it the largest in the local market.

He pointed out that Abdel Maboud Coffee owns the largest coffee factory in the Middle East, working according to the latest technological methods in the world, with the continuous modernization and development of the company's production capabilities to meet the needs of the Egyptian consumer and export.

He said that the company specializes in the production of Turkish coffee and recently started producing Arabic coffee, espresso and green coffee beans, to meet the needs of the domestic and export markets.

Ghanem added that coffee was the main drink of the Egyptian citizen in the era of the Ottoman Empire, and with the English colonization of a number of African countries, including Egypt, tea was brought in, whose prices are lower than coffee, so that tea spread and became the main drink as an alternative to coffee.

He explained that Abdel Maboud Coffee always takes into account the emergencies that the market may be exposed to, whether local or global, as happened during the Coronavirus pandemic and the ports were stopped, and despite that, the Egyptian market did not witness any shortage in the supply of coffee thanks to the presence of a strategic stock that secures the needs of the market.

Regarding the Russian crisis and the high prices of all raw materials for coffee production, he said: "Without a doubt, Egypt is part of the world and the negative effects of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis affected the prices of raw materials in all countries of the world. The company tried to absorb the bulk of the increase in production costs."

He added that all coffee beans are imported from various coffee-producing countries under the name of Abdel Maboud Coffee, and they are produced according to the company's standards.

He pointed out that the company recently introduced a new product to the Egyptian market, which is green coffee and Arabic coffee seasoned with cardamom, especially since the demand for this product has increased significantly in the recent period, due to its health benefits, whether for the digestive system or the diet and nutrition system.

He also said that the company imports raw coffee from several different origins, including Brazil, Yemen, Colombia and others, and the diversity of origins help the company to make the special blend that distinguishes the company's products from the rest of the market.

He pointed out that Abdel Maboud Coffee held several meetings with exporters, importers, and equipment companies on the sidelines of the Food Africa exhibition, which will contribute to the company's continuity in participating in the exhibition annually.

Abdel Maboud Coffee opened the first branch for roasting and grinding coffee beans in the Bab al-Louk area in central Cairo in 1940, and continued from that time to develop the coffee industry in Egypt until it became a leader in Egypt and the Arab world by establishing the largest factory in the Arab world and the Middle East for the coffee industry using the latest systems technological.
